Empty Places. Basically, this episode is a bad character-bashing fanfic where Buffy is a woobie character and everybody else in the room - seriously, everybody - is made to be a meanie asshole. As usual in sucky woobie fanfic, Buffy is right and the assholes are wrong. So, the characterizations of every single character is sacrificed just to make the hero look good.

Ugh, agreed. Although while I think Giles and Anya and like, Ronna were meanie assholes straight outta fanfic, a lot of the other characters were a lot more reasonable and I could even side with them but they were tagged with Giles and Anya's aggressio. And the fact that Buffy had to vacate the army and even threaten to constantly advocate against the new chain of command if she wasn't going to be the General.

I thought Willow, for example, was very reasonable in her argument. Though I just can't see her letting Buffy leave all alone - that part does not make sense, even Dawn saying "you have to leave" it was too forced to create a moment of shock. Wouldn't Dawn have asked Buffy to get some sleep? That would have been more in character.

Then none of her friends even thought of looking for Buffy until Faith orders them to. I just have no words.

This is something I used to read in Scoobies-bashing Spander fics, the show should be above that.
